Starting off as a part time passion for technology and offroading, the founder (Cale Wells) saw a massive gap in the market for technology in off road vehicles. So Cale managed to work with a number of companies globally to introduce upgraded entertainment head units to specifically suit vehicles that Australia had not seen or worked with.
As these infotainment units became more popular, the need to have a larger stock holding and warehouse distribution became evident. This is where the Melbourne branch and Michael Johnson came into the picture.
Now with 2 workshops in full operation with head units and technology upgrades, the popular requests to add extras to our customers vehicles became an extremely popular conversation, which led ec offroad into fitting extras such as bull bars, tow bars and roof racks.
These extras fast turned into suspension upgrades, lighting, drawer systems and the lists of what ec offroad was known for was rapidly expanding. We then moved to a larger complex in Yatala, which a year later was too small again as EC Offroad took on the fitting of trays and canopies in house. This move catapulted the brand into a one stop shop for building touring vehicles to travel Australia and become some of the biggest and best builds in the country.
Our Melbourne branch also found the need to expand and moved again into its own complex with larger builds coming in from all across the sound east of Australia to get the EC Offroad touch to their vehicles.
