EC Offroad offers a range of pre registration and post registration GVM upgrades for a large number of vehicles.
The GVM of any vehicle is the weight in kilograms that the manufacturer has specified as being the maximum that the vehicle can weigh when fully laden. EC Offroad GVM upgrades allow a vehicle to be certified to carry a greater amount than the original manufacturer, without breaching applicable ADRs or laws. You can upgrade the GVM of a vehicle using either Federal approval or State based approval, depending on whether the vehicle has been registered or not. If the vehicle has never been registered, Federal approval can be applied. A EC Offroad GVM kit comes complete with an additional compliance plate which will be fixed to the vehicle. If the vehicle is already registered, the data used in Federal compliance is used in conjunction with a vehicle inspection by an authorised State engineer to certify the vehicle

GVM Upgrades
American Vehicles
The American trucks are out of the box designed to carry additional weights and be loaded up with things such as caravans, boats and tray/canopy setups. However they aren’t always setup for the Australian conditions. We upgrade suspension components, add adequate air bag solutions and then we can upgrade them with our engineers to a higher GVM than what they get stamped with when registered in Australia. We have had rams, chevs and f trucks all within the ec offroad group and we have used them with Canopies, Boats and Caravans to work out the best solutions to suit each application.
Ram
Currently for the DT 1500 RAM we offer 3630kg & 4000kg GVM upgrades requiring suspension upgrade and air bags. – for Coil suspension models only – get up to an extra 550KG payload.
Currently for the DS 1500 RAM we offer 3795kg & 3889kg GVM upgrades requiring suspension upgrade and air bags. get up to an extra 550KG payload.
With the assistance of Air bags and suspension, if you go up to NB2 category we can upgrade you to 5620kg . If you’re currently in NB1 Category we are also able to upgrade you to NB2
With the assistance of Air bags and suspension, we can upgrade you to 5800kg.

Chevy
We can now offer your Chev 1500 LTZ or ZR2 GVM upgrade of 4200kg or 4500kg- Pre & post Rego, get up to an extra 1200KG payload.
With the assistance of Air bags and suspension & if you go up to NB2 we can upgrade you to 5828kg and a rear axle increase to 3298kg . If you’re currently in NB1 Category we are also able to upgrade you to NB2
Ford
With the current Ford F150, we have 2 different GVM options available. We can do the Touring Solutions Australia GVM or the Dobinsons GVM upgrade.
Dobinsons
GVM increase to 3950kg – Pre and Post Registration.
30-50mm Lift options available which includes either IMS or MRR Upgraded shock options, increase leaf pack and coil upgrades in the front.
TSA GVM Upgrade
GVM Increase options of 3580kg, 3850kg or 4200kg. This kit will include shock upgrades, springs, upper control arms, leaf packs and cat 6 indicators. This will require wheel and tyre upgrades.

4250 & 3740kg upgrade – Our tailored GVM upgrade solutions for the 8th Generation Toyota Hilux (2015 and newer) dramatically increases your vehicle’s legal carrying capacity. This upgrade allows you to carry more gear safely and legally plus gain a 40-50mm lift for better use offroad, and installed at the same time is rear air bags to assist with variable loads. #3740kg GVM will increase GVM from 3050kg to 3740kg, which is a 690kg increased load. 4250kg GVM will increase from 3050kg to 4250kg, which is a 1200kg increase. Both of these options maintain the 3500kg towing capacity. We offer this as a Pre and Post upgrade, however only the pre rego will be a SSM Federal certification. This package does require a wheel and tyre upgrade at the same time. We also offer a chassis extension up to 600mm which requires brake lines, tail shaft, wiring and more. You’ll enjoy the increase tray storage capacity and improved load centre to turn your hilux into the ultimate workhorse.

Nissan
3999kg and 4499kg GVM Upgrades available for Pre Registration (SSM Nationally Recognised) and also Post rego. By upgrading front and rear coils, additional air bags, upper control arms and re doing the HBMC Oil Fluids to suit the increased loaded springs. This is by far one of our most popular kits available and has been a great addition to touring vehicles especially when towing a van and needing to look after your weights. The 4495KG Kit also requires rear lower control arm’s to be reinforced.up to 37inch tyres can be used
